Tillson Lake
Written by Neil LoRe
Verse I
I remember days on Tillson Lake
I remember the blue skies
Even though I never made it there
I could live it through your eyes
Pre-chorus
You could always find me outside
But inside is where I hid
My heart was broken ‘fore I could realize
I was only just a kid
Verse II
And I remember nights on Tillson Lake
How the moon would light the place
They tell me there were those who loved me then
But I can’t recall a face
Pre-chorus
You could always find me outside
But inside is where I hid
My heart was broken ‘fore I could realize
I was only just a kid
Chorus
On the Lake, By the River
You can find me there
On the Lake, becoming a Dreamer
Till the summer’s gone; till the summer’s gone
Verse III
I hitched a ride up to Silver Lake
To find some grass and play a tune
There were hundreds gathered on the banks
But why’d the summer end so soon?
Pre-chorus
You could always find me outside
But inside is where I hid
Chorus
On the Lake, By the River
You can find me there
On the Lake, becoming a Dreamer
Till the summer’s gone; till the summer’s gone

Dawning of the Age
Written by Neil LoRe
Verse I
This is the dawning of the age
Seagulls flying ‘cross my page
Finding seashells with hidden clues
You've got soul, my dear, me too
Verse II
This is the dawning of the age
We have no choice but for to change
Letting go to face the fear
To hell with Mars, I’m staying here
Bridge I
I am a clown, you can plainly to see
I talk in rhyme and walk in time
My voice will heal, my hands will steal
The sorrow that has held us back, the sorrow that has held us back
Tomorrow it could well be back, the sorrow that has held us back
Verse III
Cardinal Red and Blue Jay Blue
There’s nothing left for us to do
But eclipse the old and start anew
You for me and me for you
Verse IV
This is the dawning of the age
I saved my wishes for today
I've only one wish and that's for you
That all your wishes may come true
Bridge II
I ask not favors or the promise of time
Love is missing from the rock bottom line
And I am yearning for the mirror divine
To collect the light of love, reflections of our love
From the seven stars above, reflections of our love

Better to Love Someone

Better To Love Someone
Written by Neil LoRe
Verse 1
Better to say nothing, better to do something
Better to love someone, better leave home when you’re ready
Sister wants control, went right for my soul
Better to love someone, so that’s what I did
They never really listened
Or tried to understand my mission
I had to run and hide
So, I hid inside
Better to love someone
Chorus
So many people, looking to own you
Tell you who you should marry, and run you around
In circles, circles
Verse 2
Better to keep it simple, a lover, a child, maybe
You’ll need a cat believe me, better leave home when you’re ready
Words only go so far and then there’re weapons
Better to say nothing
They never really listened
Or tried to understand my mission
I had to run and hide
So, I hid inside
Better to love someone
Chorus
So many people, looking to cage you
Tell you how to be happy, and run you ‘round
In circles, circles
Verse 3
Better to say nothing, better to do something
Better to love someone, you better leave home when you’re ready
I turned around, ‘cause I heard a sound
Better to love someone
Coda
Round and round, Upside down
That’s how they leave you; that’s how they love you
All day through, got nothin’ better to do
Then ask you questions, always the questions
Round and round, Upside down
That’s how they leave you; that’s how they love you
So many people, looking to own you, so many people

New Cycle, Old Winds
Written by Anthony Garofalo and Neil LoRe
VERSE 1
There comes a time
The morning sun,
Warms us with a feeling of new life.
New hope instilled
We take a chance
And reach out to the sky within our light
CHORUS
It’s a new cycle
Blown by old winds
New Cycle, Old Winds
VERSE 2
And as we take
Our walk, through time
And hear more years whisper from our past
With new hope instilled
We take a chance
And reach out for the things that once were last
CHORUS
It’s a new cycle
Blown by old winds
New Cycle, Old Winds
BRIDGE
A new road stretches far and wide
A new light switches on inside
And what will we find today
From the lost and found of yesterday
CHORUS
It’s a new cycle
Blown by old winds
New Cycle, Old Winds
VERSE 1 - REPEAT
There comes a time
The morning sun,
Warms us with a feeling of new life.
New hope instilled
We take a chance
And reach out to the sky within our light

It’s a new cycle
Blown by old winds
New Cycle, Old Winds

You’re Gonna Fall in Love
Written by Neil LoRe

No doubt about it, you’re gonna fall in love
Can’t get around it, no way around it
No doubt about it, you’re gonna fall in love, but…
VERSE 1
Don’t fall in love, too fast
You got to make it last

The moon is gonna catcha, comin’ right atcha
CHORUS
Can’t get around it, no way around it
No doubt about it, you’re gonna fall in love
VERSE 2

Let me remind you
Her flashing eyes

Is There Love?

Is There Love?
Written by Neil LoRe
VERSE 1
Do we truly know a thing about love?
We say, “I love you” all the time
Do you have a place for me inside your heart?
Like I do, reserved just for you
VERSE 2
Can we really love our enemies?
On any given day
Or do we only just pretend to believe
'Cause it's easier - than trying to find the truth
CHORUS
Life makes no sense to me
Only a fool would say it does
I wonder if we’ll ever know what is love
Can we love? Is there love?
VERSE 3
So, we're off to meet our maker
Or maybe off to oblivion
To live forever sounds like hell to me
And heaven seems a selfish place to want to be
CHORUS
Life makes no sense to me
Only a fool would say it does
I wonder if we’ll ever know what is love
Can we love? Is there love?
BRIDGE
You know I always gave you honesty
And half a lifetime to be free
Free to find the light within you, without you
But all I have to show for honesty
Are the friends and family
Who’d rather hold onto
Illusions, about me
Illusions, without me
VERSE 4
And to you it's gonna be hard to say goodbye
I guess that shows love has to be
I feel the love inside of me
OUTTRO
Is there love, there has to be
Is there love, there has to be
I feel the love inside of me

Maybe I Should Try Writing for Tee-Vee
Written by Neil LoRe
Verse I
I woke up on a Ferris wheel
Sitting next to the Cheshire Cat and Santa Claus
The Cat tried to sell me methamphetamine
And Santa was just giving it away
That’s where my mind goes sometimes
What is wrong with me?
Maybe I should try writing for TV
Verse II
I thought the world was all in black and white
‘Cause I watched too much TV
Never occurred to me that the world would be in color
Before 1963
That’s how my mind works sometimes
What is wrong with me?
Maybe I should try writing for TV
Verse III
I once had lunch with an alien
Told me Oswald didn’t act alone
There was no resurrection and Paul was really dead
He said that mankind was just a failed experiment
That’s where my mind goes lately
What is wrong with me?
Maybe I should try writing for TV
That’s where my mind goes sometimes
Someone rescue me
Maybe I should try writing for TV
Maybe I should try writing for TV
Maybe then someone would understand me

Hey, You (We Never Said Goodbye)
Written by Neil LoRe
Verse 1
1922, not far from Mott Street
A young girl came along, with a voice of an angel
And she went to work, in poppa’s shop
Looked out the window and saw the world in her own way
Hey, you, why are you not at school?
She said: “I can’t see the blackboard, but I learned - all I need to know
from Music - and the Golden Rule”.
Verse 2
1938, it must have been lovely
A young man walked in the shop, she took his hand
That’s when it started, they fell in love
but soon they parted, he went off to war
Hey, you, what was wartime like for you?
She said: “There was constant worry, no one could understand
What I went through, until the day he came safely home to me.”
Refrain
We never said goodbye, we always said ‘talk to you later’
We never said goodbye, we always said ‘catch up with you later’
We never said goodbye
Verse 3
1966, she came to the island
There were storms brewing – on the island
A white horse, rode off with almost everything
Left her broken, and crying to the sky (aiutami)
Hey, you, I saw what it did to you
Hey, you, then out of the blue you raised another child
After all you’d been through
Verse 4
O’er the next 20 years there was music all around her
Took turns at the piano – look, it’s time for lessons
And oh, how she’d listen, and with Dad by her side
I’d hear her whisper to him, something soft and sweet
Hey, you, you could play any song by ear
Hey, you, so long as you’re in my heart
you’re still right here, playing by ear, right here
Repeat Refrain
Verse 5
1985, she watched me go out to the world
She waved goodbye, from the window to me and my girl
I made a new start, never far from her heart
She was always with me, however far apart
Hey, you, I wrote this song for you
Hey, you, it’s hard to say goodbye, so let’s just say
I’ll see you later, talk to you later
Verse 6
December 2020, that’s when she left
It’s the way of the world but it hurts nonetheless
And we are poorer
Without her here
Everyone who knew her
Said the same thing time and again
I loved her, there was no one like her
She made me feel at home – from the moment I walked in
‘til the moment - we said goodbye
Repeat Refrain

Midnight Runaway

Midnight Runaway
Written by Neil LoRe
Verse 1
On a dark and stormy winter’s morning, she came into this world.
The stars were not aligned, no silver spoon this time.
Her parents were not fit, to raise a precious child.
Mom would use, and dad abused, an all-too-common family blues.
So early one December’s day, when she had turned fifteen.
She’d finally had enough, packed her stuff, and headed for L.A., it wasn’t safe for her to stay
Chorus 1
The Midnight Runaway, Midnight Runaway
Who’s looking out today, for the lost and found, nowhere bound, ‘round and ‘round
She’ll find her own way.
Verse 2
As time went by, she realized how hard it was to trust.
The things her mom and dad had done to her had turned that dream to dust.
So, it was hard for her to get close to anyone.
From time to time, she’d meet a guy who’d try to love her, -- but she’d fly away
Chorus 2
Midnight runaway…
Bridge
Not a day goes by where she don’t fight back tears.
Will she always be haunted by the years?
Where’s the love that we all read about, & we preach about it, but no one cares.
She was robbed of love, robbed of innocence, where’s the justice for her.
Chorus 3 (Solo)
Verse 3
Then she fell in love with a film director - in the Hollywood hills. She so enchanted him, he cast her in his films.
And the people loved her, they made her a star, but Mr. Hollywood wanted more than was bargained for.
He’d seen right through her and the innocence she wore.
He tried to take it all away from her, again, but she flew, she saw -- she knew.
Chorus 4
A Midnight Runaway, another Midnight Runaway…
Outro
Midnight Runaway, Midnight Runaway (solo)
Midnight runaway She had to leave today, Midnight Runaway
She’s a Midnight Runaway … (she is free today)
Midnight Runaway girl, spinning ‘round this crazy world
She could be anybody’s girl
And one day she’ll own this world, yeah yeah
She’s a midnight runaway girl, lost and found, nowhere bound, ‘round and ‘round
She’ll find her own way

An Apology to the Earth

An Apology to the Earth
Written by Neil LoRe
We - confess our sins - to you this day
And to the ones - who respect your ways
We had a choice - we chose to stray
Away from you - away from truth.
The native people - knew the way
Ten thousand years - not aged a day
We fed them god - and starved their dreams
Stole their past, their hills and streams
And there are those - who claim to be,
From the earth - but this cannot be
They put their hands - around your throat
Shook you down - and took your soul
An apology - from a broken heart
A broken man - in a broken land
All that’s done comes from our hands
And all we’ll leave is desert sands
They preach to me, seven-day creation
While they play - with radiation
There they go - up to the altar
To make believe - with holy water
We - sinners of the earth – must find our heart
Once one with you - we broke apart
Became a sore - became a whore
To all things green – and more, more, more
And when I die - my ashes spread
Upon your body - your garden bed
I hope you’ll keep me safe with you
Through the universe - through eternity
